For the second day in a row, the military transport aviation of the Russian Federation has been transferring peacekeepers to Kazakhstan. The dispatch continues from three airfields located in the Moscow, Ivanovo and Ulyanovsk regions.

According to Interfax, citing data from the RF Ministry of Defense, units of the Airborne Forces (Airborne Forces) are loading standard equipment and weapons into military transport aircraft.

"Airborne troops from the Russian contingent of the peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), which have made earlier marches, are at the loading airfields "Chkalovsky", "Ivanovo-Severny", "Ulyanovsk-Vostochny", - said in the message.

Those military men who were sent to Kazakhstan the day before have already begun to fulfill their tasks. They ensure the reception and deployment of the main forces of the peacekeeping contingent.

According to the Russian military, elite units of the 45th Special Forces Brigade of the Airborne Forces, the Ulyanovsk Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Forces and the Ivanovo Airborne Division, which have experience in performing combat missions in hot spots, will operate as part of the CSTO contingent in Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said that the Russian peacekeeping contingent is being transferred to Kazakhstan with standard equipment.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the sending of the Russian army to Kazakhstan began in accordance with the decision of the CSTO Collective Security Council, adopted on January 6.

“The Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization have been sent to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited period of time to stabilize and normalize the situation,” the Defense Ministry said.

Along with the Russian military, the peacekeeping forces also included units of the armed forces of Belarus, Armenia, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. On the eve, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev appealed to the CSTO member states for help in connection with the current situation in the country, where a state of emergency was introduced in connection with the riots.

Protests in Kazakhstan, which began as a reaction to a sharp increase in fuel prices in the west of the country, have continued since January 2. By January 4-5, they covered the entire republic, and the economic demands of the protesters grew into political ones. The participants in the speeches demanded the resignation from the leading post of the head of the Security Council of the former President of the country, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and demolished a monument dedicated to him.
