Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, following the results of negotiations of government delegations, withdrew troops from the state border line. Now there is a stable situation, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press center of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the published information, the withdrawal of additional forces and assets of the sides to the places of permanent deployment has been completed . Units of the border service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, which were deployed on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the border, are serving in an enhanced mode.

Recall that the border conflict between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan flared up on April 28, 2021. The reason for the confrontation was access to water resources - both countries believe that the water distribution point is located on their territory. After several clashes of residents, clashes began between the military of the two countries. The conflict killed 36 residents of Kyrgyzstan, including children, as well as 19 Tajiks. More than 350 people from both countries were injured. On May 1, the parties managed to agree on a ceasefire and the withdrawal of troops.

However, on June 4, the situation escalated again. The Tajik side has set up a container on an undescribed section of the border in Unzhu-Bulak, Chon-Alai District, Osh Oblast. At the same time, "an entry into the depths of the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic up to 1000 meters" was made. In this regard, the Kyrgyz border guards switched to an enhanced regime of service.
