According to Reuters, referring to the police and Thai authorities, the perpetrator was armed with firearms and knives.

"The death toll at a kindergarten in Nong Bua Lamphu province rose to 36 on Thursday, including 24 children. In addition, 12 people were injured and the provincial hospital needs more blood donations", - Thai publication Khaosod reported, which published a photo of the alleged shooter.

The offender came to the kindergarten during a quiet hour, when there were about 30 children in the center. First, he shot the staff, including the teacher in the eighth month of pregnancy.

“At first people thought it was fireworks”, - said one of the witnesses, who was near the scene.

According to media reports, the perpetrator turned out to be a police sergeant who was fired from service due to drug problems. He was identified by the license plates left at the crime scene. The attacker managed to escape before the arrival of the police, but was later found dead. The involvement of outsiders in his death has not been established.
