Almost 250 million coronavirus cases have been reported since the start of the pandemic

Since the coronavirus began to spread around the planet, 5,440,795 people have died from the diseases it caused.

Three countries - the United States, India and Brazil - have reported more than 20 million cases of coronavirus infection. According to Interfax, the leader in the number of people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus (46,461,714 people), as well as in the number of deaths from covid (754,278 cases), is still the United States.

The second largest number of infected people belongs to India, with 34,352,312 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in this country. The death toll from COVID-19 is 460,747 to date.

The third place in the sad ranking belongs to Brazil - 21 874 324 infected, of which 609 388 people died.

According to the Internet portal Worldometer, which collects statistics on the most significant events, the death rate per 1 million of the world's population as of November 7 is 649.2.

In the United States, 2,323 people died per 1 million inhabitants, in India - 330, and in Brazil - 2,840 people.
