A proposal to lower the electoral threshold has already been sent to parliament.

"Yesterday at the meeting, the CEC members spoke about the need to lower the electoral threshold so that there would not be such a large number of groups not represented in parliament. We approved (the initiative) at the meeting, and the letter was sent to the parliament", - TASS quotes the words of a member of the Central Election Commission of Kyrgyzstan Gulnara Dzhurabayeva.

During the meeting, CEC members expressed their proposals on what the electoral threshold should be. According to Djurabaeva, it should not exceed 3%.

In addition, the commission recommended to parliamentarians to revise the rule allowing citizens to change their electoral address according to Form 2 an unlimited number of times - this was the most controversial and discussed topic of the parliamentary election campaign in the country.

- Since we saw that almost 450 thousand citizens moved (registered at different polling stations), two measures were proposed - the first is that you can change the address once, and the second is to stop accepting applications on Form 2 30 days before voting day, - explained the head of the CEC.

They also supported the initiative to reduce the electoral deposit for parties, which currently stands at 5 million soms - about 5 million rubles. Jurabaeva called this amount "a burden for political parties that do not have material resources".

As a reminder, following the results of the parliamentary elections, out of 16 parties, only four were able to overcome the 7% threshold. After the results of the voting, protest actions began in the republic, which grew into riots. More than a thousand people are officially considered affected. One of the protesters died.

The opposition, which did not get a seat in parliament, did not recognize the election results and took people to the streets. Demonstrators have seized the parliament building, continue to organize riots throughout the country, and seize enterprises. In particular, it was previously noted that the protesters staged a raider seizure of the largest gold deposits, some of them were defended. On Tuesday, October 6, the Central Election Commission canceled the voting results.
