Two US C-17A Globemaster III military transport aircraft arrived in Poland on February 10, bringing units from the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division.

The planes took off from the Fort Bragg base in North Carolina and landed at the airport in the Polish city of Rzeszow, 90 km from the border with Ukraine. According to Washington's decision, 1,700 American paratroopers will be stationed there.

On February 9, four military aircraft landed at the Rzeszow-Jasyonka airport with units of the 82nd Airborne Division. To date, there are already 1,350 soldiers of this division in Poland. At least 13 US military transport aircraft have flown there this week.

Last Sunday, an advance group of American paratroopers arrived in Poland, including the commander of the 82nd division, General Christopher Donahue.

Last week, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the deployed troops would not fight in Ukraine:

- They [troops] will have to provide reliable defense of NATO allies.

As part of the strengthening of defense, the US military is also arriving in Germany and Romania. The United States plans to send about 3,000 troops to Europe.

Meanwhile, the DPR reported the arrival of mercenaries from Poland in the Donbass.
