The UK authorities will be able to impose restrictive measures not only against those Russian citizens who, according to the British government, directly contributed to the destabilization of the situation in Ukraine, but also against the individuals and companies who are of great or strategic importance to the Russia.

Also, under the sanctions, according to the document adopted on February 11, those who do business with Donbass, work in Crimea, provide financial services, technologies and resources that contribute to “destabilization in Ukraine” can fall.

In the list of strategically important enterprises for Russia, the UK has included organizations operating in the chemical, energy and military industries, as well as companies in the construction and transport sectors.

It's worth to note that experts see threats to the European economy from anti-Russian sanctions. According to analysts, the most vulnerable position will be banks, energy, industry and trade. The most important challenge for the EU economy in the event of the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions could be a sharp rise in energy prices, followed by increased tensions throughout the eurozone.
