The US Supreme Court on Thursday blocked the Biden administration's demand for mandatory vaccinations or PCR testing for COVID-19 in large companies with more than 100 employees. The initiative came from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

According to the text of the proposal, all employees of companies with more than 100 employees must be vaccinated or must provide weekly PCR tests. As reported by the Axios agency, it is about 84 million Americans.

"While Congress undeniably gave OSHA the authority to regulate occupational hazards, it did not give OSHA the authority to regulate public health more broadly," the court said in a ruling.

According to Novaya Gazeta , the court did not oppose the introduction of compulsory vaccination and testing for some categories of employees of state institutions, including doctors.

“I am disappointed that the Supreme Court decided to block the common sense requirements for saving the lives of employees of large enterprises, which were based on both science and law,” Interfax quoted US President Joe Biden as saying.

At the end of December , Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a discussion of the issue of compulsory vaccination of the population at his big press conference, said that he did not see the need for this, stressing that the best way to stimulate would be a patient and respectful explanation of the need for vaccinations.
