Police officers in Turkey were able to detain a man who allegedly left an explosive device on Istiklal in central Istanbul, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu said.

“The man who left the bomb has been detained”, - TRT World quoted the minister as saying.

Initial reports indicate that the Kurdistan Workers' Party and the Kurdish YPG were involved in the attack. Both organizations are recognized as terrorist in Turkey.

The day before, in the center of Istanbul, on the tourist street Istiklal, not far from Taksim Square, we will warm up the explosion. This square is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Turkey. According to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, six people were killed and more than 80 were injured. Note that not far from the site of the explosion is the Russian Consulate General. Later it became known that there were no Russians among the victims.

It should be noted that Soylu spoke critically about the position of the United States regarding yesterday's terrorist attack in Istanbul, which claimed the lives of six people. The head of the department also spoke about the insincerity of the "so-called allies" who help terrorists hide and finance them from their own budgets.
