Chechen and African immigrants organized the riots in France
Mass riots took place in the center of the French city of Dijon.
On June 13, several citizens with their faces covered in hoods gathered in the center of Dijon and attacked the Black Pearl hookah. The cause of the riots, as indicated in the media, was the settlement of accounts between representatives of the Chechen community from all over France and local groups of drug traffickers of Maghreb origin, RIA Novosti wrote with reference to the local press.
According to preliminary data, the beginning of the conflict was the beating of a native of Chechnya.
Eyewitnesses report that the attackers were armed with fittings, knives, screwdrivers and baseball bats. The police had to use tear gas.
The deputy prosecutor of Dijon said that at least ten people had suffered during the conflicts. However, no one was arrested.
It is also reported that on the night of June 14, the parties intended to arrange a meeting in order to resolve the conflict, but law enforcement officers prevented them.
Law enforcement in Dijon had to be strengthened by two companies of police special forces.
Earlier, at a protest came the French police. Having blocked the Champs Elysees, they called for an end to the accusations of law enforcement officers of racism.
