38 demonstrators were killed at a rally last Sunday in Myanmar. A day earlier, 18 people were killed. In total, 138 people became victims after the seizure of power in the country by the military. Citizens are protesting against the seizure of power by the military in the republic.

According to the representative of the UN Secretary General Stefn Dujarrik, the leadership of Myanmar has introduced martial law in two districts of the capital.

On February 1, the military in Myanmar seized power and appointed Vice President Win Myin as interim head of the country. They detained Myanmar's state adviser Aung San Suu Kyi and other senior government officials, including the country's president, Vin Myin. The full complement of real state power in the country was received by the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Myanmar, Min Aung Hlain, who actually led the state for more than 40 years.

Thousands of people began to take to the streets to protest the coup. Most people were affected in the Hling Thayer area in the country's largest city, Yangon.

At the end of February, the military began to shoot peaceful protesters.

It's worth reminding that the elections in Myanmar were held on November 8, 2020. The ruling National League for Democracy Party won 396 of the 476 seats in parliament, receiving a mandate to govern the country for the next five years. The Allied Solidarity and Development Party, which is close to the interests of the military, secured only 33 seats.

After summing up the results, the military announced that manipulations were allegedly allowed during the voting, but the election commission did not find evidence of falsifications. When the military's attempts to challenge the election results through appeals to the election commission failed, the commander-in-chief announced the possibility of repealing the constitution in case of violation of the laws.
