American special forces in armored vehicles entered the city of Qamishli, located in northeastern Syria. It is here that the airfield with military equipment of the Russian Aerospace Forces is located. American access to the "closed zone" was provided by the Kurds, who control the area.

According to the avia.pro portal, the appearance of "uninvited guests" is due to increased cooperation between the Kurds and the US military against the background of the Turkish threat to take control of a 30-kilometer zone in northern Syria.

However, it is still not clear to military experts for what purpose the Americans entered the territory of Qamishli. Their appearance near the air base, where Su-34 fighter-bombers and Ka-52 combat helicopters are located, clearly indicates the desire of the United States to demonstrate its presence in the region. Especially against the background of the current aggravation of relations between Washington and Moscow.

On the eve of the United States conducted a special operation in Turkish-controlled territory in Syria. According to avia.pro, in the area of the city of Kobani, six "turntables" of the US Air Force attacked the camp of Syrian militants. On the ground, the special forces captured the field commander - one of the key figures of the pro-Turkish illegal armed formation (his name was not disclosed).

It is not yet clear whether this operation was coordinated with the Russian side. Indeed, in order for American helicopters to enter the airspace of northern Syria, they would have to fly through airspace controlled by Syrian and Russian air defense.

In February, US special forces carried out a helicopter raid in the Syrian province of Idlib, controlled by Hayet Tahrir ash-Sham, which led to the death of ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi al-Qurayshi .
