Three former US presidents - Republican George W. Bush and Democrats Bill Clinton and Barack Obama decided to team up to help the Afghans who fled Afghanistan.

According to Voice of America, the former presidents, their spouses and immediate family members will take part in the activities of Welcome.US - a coalition of non-profit organizations, businesses and other associations, as well as individuals - which was announced on Tuesday.

As noted in a statement released by the new organization, it intends to help thousands of Afghans arriving in the United States by mobilizing resources and volunteers for this.

“Afghans have stood shoulder to shoulder with us to make the world a safer place, and now they themselves need help”, - George W. Bush and Laura Bush said in a statement.

Representatives of Bill Clinton and his wife, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have not yet commented on the new initiative.

The coalition is reportedly supported by more than 280 prominent politicians and business people. Wealthy businesses such as Microsoft and Starbucks have already joined her noble mission.
