In March, more than 5,000 Ukrainians were detained at land, sea and air borders of the United States for not having documents that would allow them to cross the border legally.

A total of 5,071 citizens of Ukraine were detained. In February, the figure was 1100 people. According to The Washington Post, many of the refugees have left detention centers at US parole points of entry.

On the eve of the administration of US President Joe Biden announced the extension of the temporary protected status for Ukrainians for another 18 months.

Recall that the US authorities declared their readiness to accept up to one hundred thousand Ukrainians. The White House noted that Ukrainian migrants will be allowed into the country, in particular, on family visas, as well as under the US Refugee Protection Program.
