A feigned policeman shot 16 people in Canada

In the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, 51-year-old Gabriel Worthman (pictured) opened fire on local residents. He was dressed in a police uniform and moved in a patrol car, although he himself was not a police officer. 17 people were killed, including the shooter.

The death toll may increase. Previously, the CTV channel reported about 13 victims. An investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday night Worthman shot local residents in the city of Potralik and later in settlements located within a radius of 50 km from the city. For12 hours the law enforcement officers tried to detain the criminal. During the operation, an employee of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police was killed.

Worthman himself was killed in the city of Anfield during a gunfight with the police officers.

According to police, the killer was familiar with some of his victims. At the moment, the shooter’s motive is not reported.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims.
