Democrat Joseph Biden said that he does not consider it obligatory for the United States to apply tougher sanctions against China and introduce new duties on goods. He also said that the state should return to the World Health Organization (WHO).

During a press conference in Delaware, Biden was asked if he was inclined to resort to sanctions against the PRC after taking office as president.

“The task is not to punish China, but to make China understand that it should play by the rules”, - TASS quotes a democrat.

He clarified that he was in favor of reforming the WHO, and said that the United States under his leadership on the very first day of the new administration will join the organization again. Recall that President Donald Trump withdrew the country from WHO.

"We will have to deal not only with the current pandemic, but also develop a plan to combat the next. The very idea that the virus will disappear by itself is irrational", - said Biden.

Note that the American Ministry of Health refused to work with Joe Biden. The US Department of Health and Human Services has announced that it will not participate in the transfer of powers to the Biden administration until the official election results are announced.

Before that, the State Department also said that it did not intend to cooperate with Biden.
