IS* members attacked a prison in the Syrian province of Hasakah, as a result of which two dozen militants of the terrorist organization escaped from prison.

According to the SANA agency, two cars exploded at the entrance to the prison and a shootout broke out between the attackers and the guards. After the attack, 20 IS militants escaped from prison.

Entrances and exits in the city were blocked by fighters of the Kurdish "Forces of Democratic Syria" (FDS). The prison has a security cordon. US Air Force helicopters flew there, which are currently looking for the escaped terrorists.

On January 19, we recall, 12 fighters of the internal forces of Syria were injured when a bus was blown up by an improvised explosive device on the Damascus-Derra highway.

* Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (IS) - the organization is recognized as a terrorist organization and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation
