For the first time since January 25 last year, the Chinese authorities recorded two deaths from COVID-19, in just the past 24 hours, 4,051 people became infected with the virus in the country.

The State Committee for Hygiene and Health of the People's Republic of China indicated that during March 18, infections were 19% less than a week earlier. In total, only 181 cases of the diseased are imported. In 1823 cases, those infected carry the disease asymptomatically.

It is noted that in mainland China, the number of hospitalized covid patients is rapidly increasing. As early as March 14, there was an outbreak of infection due to a recently identified strain - "stealth-omicron", the spread of which is even faster than that of the usual "omicron".

By the way, the Chinese government continues the policy of hard lockdowns to prevent further incidence of covid. Mandatory quarantine has been introduced for those who had contact with the sick.
