Tropical storm in Philippines took lives of 224 people

Tropical Storm Agathon (Megi) hit the Philippines April 10-12. More than two million people were affected by the disaster, 224 people died.
More than 175,000 local residents were displaced by the storm, according to the Philippine National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. Currently, 76 settlements are experiencing power outages.
Earlier it was reported about 172 victims. The Philippine authorities announced the suspension of classes in 192 educational institutions and the work of 139 businesses. The activities of 41 ports were suspended, but 6 of them have already resumed work. A state of emergency has been introduced in 16 cities and municipalities.
