It was announced in Warsaw that Jarosław Kaczynski has resigned from the post of Deputy Prime Minister of Poland. As expected, his successor will be the head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak (pictured).

RIA Novosti, citing the PAP agency, quotes the words of the 72-year-old Polish politician that during the crisis in Ukraine, Blashak, as head of the military department, is the most suitable candidate for the post of deputy prime minister. "Combining the two posts has very big advantages", - Kaczynski said.

As you know, Yaroslav Kaczynski has served as Deputy Prime Minister of Poland since October 2020. All this time, he oversaw the security forces in the government of Morawiecki. He is also chairman of the Committee on National Security and Defense Affairs.

In 2006-2007, Kaczynski served as Prime Minister of Poland. His twin brother Lech Kaczynski was then president.

In 2010, after the death of his brother in a plane crash, Yaroslav Kaczynski ran for the presidency of the country, but took second place, losing to Bronislav Komarovsky.

As RIA Novosti recalls, since 2003 Yaroslav Kachinsky has been leading the now ruling Law and Justice party. Last summer he was once again re-elected to this post and promised that he no longer wants to take part in the election of the head of the party.
