Volodymyr Zelensky: "Ukraine will remain within internationally recognized borders"

Zelensky stressed that Ukraine has the right to individual and collective self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.

In his video message, the Ukrainian president said that the country would remain within internationally recognized borders, "and they will remain so, despite any statements and actions of the Russian Federation."

According to him, Kiev is committed to a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict and will not succumb to provocations.

Recall that yesterday, February 21, after a televised address to citizens, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees recognizing the LPR and DPR, as well as cooperation agreements with these republics.

Immediately after that, Zelensky convened a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and held urgent talks with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel , called the decision of the President of the Russian Federation to recognize the independence of the LPR and DPR as a violation of international law.
