FIAC, which includes such companies as Danone, Mars, Metro, PepsiCo, Sanofi, Coca-Cola, Unilever, asked the authorities for help, stating that already at the Bobrovniki checkpoint on the border with Poland, 25-kilometer lines of heavy trucks. Traffic jams occur on bypass routes through Latvia and Lithuania.

The appeal says that the time of crossing the Bobrovniki checkpoint has increased to 80 hours, and a day of idle time for a truck costs at least 500 euros.

About 10% of Russian imports in kind pass through the border. We are also talking about essential goods, food and medical products, Kommersant reports.

This situation, the council warned, could affect the availability of goods, especially given the increased demand in the pre-New Year period.

Oraz Durdyev, Director for Legal Affairs and Corporate Relations of AB InBev Efes (BUD, Stella Artois, Corona Extra), pointed to a possible shortage, as well as an increase in the price of goods due to traffic jams at the border. Lenta has already encountered delays in the passage of goods. PepsiCo (brands Pepsi, Lay's, J7, Domik v Derevne) reported on the danger of breaking the supply chain.

Let's remind that on the eve of the Prime Minister of Poland Morawiecki said that his country is going to completely close the border in Belarus because of the migration crisis in order to put pressure on the Lukashenka regime. So far, it has been decided to close only one border crossing "Kuznitsa", where the camp of migrants was set up.
