Ukrainian diplomats refused to discuss the topic of Crimea at the UN

“We regret that our Ukrainian colleagues did not dare to participate in our “Arria formula” on May 21 (although we did not shy away from the March 6 meeting). We were not only ready, but also wanted to provide them with a platform and a platform for dialogue with people living in the Crimea", - the statement said.

It is also noted that the representatives of Great Britain, the USA and Estonia also “did not honor their presence” with this meeting and, thus, not only violated the practice of holding them in the Security Council, “but also showed disregard for the residents of Crimea, whose fate they allegedly bake".

Meetings on the "Arria formula" are not directly related to the activities of the Security Council and involve consultations, which invite not only diplomats, but also representatives of non-governmental organizations and the public. Such a meeting in Crimea took place on March 6, but the Western countries that organized it refused to give the floor to representatives of the peninsula. At this meeting, the Crimean residents were given the opportunity to make a video call. As noted in the Russian mission, it was a revelation for Western colleagues in the Security Council to hear about the reasons that prompted Crimeans to opt for reunification with Russia, as well as about the provocations and openly hostile steps of the Ukrainian authorities in last six years.
