Russian troops land in Kharkiv

Early on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced about the beginning of a military special operation in the Donbass. He made the corresponding statement after the appeal of the heads of the DPR and LPR with a request for military assistance. The Russian leader said that the occupation of Ukraine is not included in Moscow's plans.

After that, the media appeared messages about explosions and shooting in many cities of Ukraine. As it became known, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet launched a landing operation in the Black and Azov Seas.

There were reports in the public and media that Russian troops had taken the Ukrainian Mariupol. In addition, units of the People's Militia of the Luhansk People's Republic launched an assault on the city of Schastye, controlled by Kiev, 30 kilometers from Luhansk.
