Greece offered to resume air traffic with Russia

- We propose to resume flights according to protocols that correspond to the current epidemiological situation and imply a limited number of flights per week. For this purpose, negotiations are underway between the civil aviation authorities of Greece and Russia, - Izvestia cites a message from the Greek embassy in the Russian Federation.

Before that, the Greek authorities were temporarily allowed to enter the country for Russians - 500 people a week from 7 to 21 September. All guests were required to have a negative coronavirus test and a hotel voucher with them.

Now, the newspaper points out, the resumption of flights with this country is expected from October 1. According to sources, Greece wants to return flights from Athens, Thessaloniki and Heraklion. The Russian side is considering the possibility of returning one flight a week from Moscow to Athens, presumably by Aeroflot.

Also, the interlocutor of the publication noted that in the next two months air traffic with Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican Republic may open.

Let us recall that the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that it was too early to talk about the opening of borders with Europe. The resumption of flights to European countries is now even more vague due to the announcement of the second wave of coronavirus, which has already arrived in Europe.
