Russian woman Sofia Sapega, arrested in Belarus, faces up to 12 years in prison. She is accused under Article 130 of the Criminal Code of Belarus - incitement of racial, national, religious or other social hostility or discord.

As reported by Sputnik Belarus, the Russian woman is accused of the third part of this article.

The Russian woman was detained on May 23 after an emergency landing of a Ryanair plane flying from Athens to Vilnius at the Minsk airport. The court arrested her for two months. Together with her, Roman Protasevich, the former editor-in-chief of the Nexta Telegram channel, was also detained. Earlier, criminal cases were initiated against him, and he himself was put on the interstate wanted list. Protasevich is suspected of organizing riots in Belarus after the presidential elections in August last year.

The Russian Foreign Ministry previously confirmed that the Russian woman is a suspect in a crime, but did not specify under which article. Earlier it became known that she edited the Telegram channel "Black Book of Belarus" about the personal data of the Belarusian security officials who dispersed the protests.
