The Taliban*, which controls power in Afghanistan, has blocked 23.4 million websites because it considered them "unethical" and is also fighting the distribution of illegal SIM cards.

Afghan Minister of Communications Najibullah Haqqani pointed out that some young people, despite their poverty, spend too much time browsing these "unethical" sites, Tolo News reported , but did not specify what exactly he meant by "unethical".

As for illegal SIM cards, the department pointed to the prevention of the use of 80-90% of them.
