Moldovan President Maia Sandu (pictured) announced her readiness to deprive Moldovans of their citizenship for participating in hostilities in Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation. The corresponding recommendation was issued by the Supreme Security Council of the Republic.

“There is a risk of mobilization of Moldovan citizens in the eastern regions of Moldova (Transnistria). We are considering the possibility of revoking citizenship from citizens who have only Moldovan citizenship and will act in a military conflict on the side of the aggressor”, - Sandu said during a briefing (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The President of Moldova admitted that the authorities did not have evidence of the recruitment of Pridnestrovians, but warned potential mobilized about the responsibility for participating in the conflict on the side of Russia.

Meanwhile, large-scale protests are regularly held in Moldova, the participants of which demand the resignation of Sandu and the dissolution of parliament.
