Security forces detained a suspect in the execution of people at Yuzhmash

This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky on the social network Facebook. He promised that the 21-year-old suspect would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. A special commission will investigate the causes and circumstances of the state of emergency.

“The commission will check how he passed the medical examination and what was his mental state when he received permission to carry weapons”, - Interfax said in a statement.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine warned that, based on the results of the work of the commission, it is possible to make personnel decisions.

The incident on the territory of the Yuzhmash plant occurred on the morning of January 27. One of the soldiers, presumably Ryabchuk, opened fire on his colleagues with a Kalashnikov assault rifle, and then fled with a weapon, taking with him about 7,000 rounds of ammunition.

Five people were killed in the shooting, including a woman who was not a soldier. Five more people were injured.

The moment of the crime was caught on CCTV footage. They show how the suspect first kills others, and then returns several times for ammunition, stepping over the bodies of his victims.

On the fact of the mass execution of people at Yuzhmash, the Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigation opened a criminal case.
