The head of the Iranian Ministry of Trade and Industry, Seyyed Reza Fatemi Amin, announced the agreement on barter deals with Russia for the supply of auto parts and gas turbines in exchange for metallurgy products, including steel.

According to Press TV, Iran wants to import zinc, lead and alumina from Russia to "satisfy growing domestic demand." Amin did not specify what other goods he was talking about. However, several companies in Iran have already signed contracts for the supply and repair of gas turbines for power plants in Russia.

It should be noted that earlier experts assumed that due to breaks in supply chains and, accordingly, problems with deliveries, the Russian energy sector could be reoriented to equipment from Iran.

It should be noted that earlier, within the framework of negotiations between Russia and Iran, the parties agreed to move to the highest possible level of mutual settlements in national currencies. Representatives of the countries discussed the connection of the Mir and Shetab payment systems (Iran's payment system), as well as other issues of cooperation in the financial sector.
