According to the newspaper Nord Kurier, the posters are copied from 1949 leaflets. They depict Germany within the borders that preceded World War II. According to media reports, modern posters contain agitation for the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Unions (CDU / CSU) bloc.
However, CDU spokesman Hannes Dettmann said the party had nothing to do with these posters. According to him, such campaigning misleads voters and should be removed. The local prosecutor's office has already started to investigate the incident.
Parliamentary elections in Germany are scheduled for September 26. The winning party will have the right to form a government, and the leader of its party list, with the successful formation of a cabinet of ministers, will head it. The current German Chancellor Angela Merkel will not participate in the elections.
