An explosion thundered near a tube station in the center of London

The explosion thundered in central London near the Elephant & Castle underground station. Commercial buildings, several cars and a telephone booth caught fire, the city fire department said.
The roads in the area of the explosion were blocked. People were advised not to visit the area of the explosion yet, as well as to lock all windows and doors, the ministry said on Twitter.
10 fire brigades were sent to the scene. 70 firefighters are involved in extinguishing the fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. The version of the terrorist attack at the station was ruled out by the British police. "The incident is not terrorism-related", - the police said in a statement on Twitter.
