US military reports Russian submarine near Alaska

- The North American Aerospace Defense Command and the US Northern Command are closely monitoring the Russian submarine that surfaced off Alaska today. We are closely monitoring interest to us by the courts, including by foreign naval vessels in our area of responsibility, - stated in the department in a Twitter message.

According to the US military, Russia's maritime activity is carried out in international waters, outside of American territory.

“We have not received requests for help from the Russian Navy or other sailors in the area”, - the military said.

We will remind that earlier in the US Air Force pointed out a "serious problem" from the new Russian submarines.
