An employee of his company was detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder.

Billionaire Lin Qi, 39, died eight days after being admitted to hospital with acute pain, The Guardian reported .

Qin Li was the owner of Yoozoo Games Co, which developed the video game Game of Thrones: Winter Is Coming for smartphones and PCs, based on the series of the same name. In addition, along with the creators of the TV series "Game of Thrones" David Benioff and D.B. Weiss Lee has been named one of the producers of the sci-fi film The Three Bodies Problem, which is currently being developed by Netflix. It is an adaptation of Liu Qixin's famous trilogy of the same name, which became the first translated book in history to receive the Hugo Award for Best Science Fiction Work.

According to the Chinese media, Qin Li was admitted to the hospital on December 16 with acute pain. He was immediately hospitalized, and soon doctors were forced to resort to resuscitation after cardiac arrest. The press service of Yoozoo Games Co announced the stabilization of its director's condition and hopes for a speedy recovery, but the next day there were signs of brain death.

According to the doctors, Lin was poisoned. Initially, it was suggested that the businessman was poisoned with blueberries or aged pu-erh tea, but then a new version was put forward: a whole cocktail of poisons was introduced into the body. Judging by the symptoms, the cause of death was the action of such a neurotoxin as tetrodotoxin - this substance is found, for example, in puffer fish.

In the case of poisoning, the general director of the subsidiary company Yoozoo Games Co Xu Yao was detained, and although the arrest took place promptly, the suspect refused to disclose which poisons he used. This was one of the reasons that Qin, who had not received the antidote, died. According to the Chinese media, the most likely motive for the murder was a "labor disagreement": the killer, whose company was developing the Netflix project, had his salary cut.

The capital of the deceased businessman, according to the Hurun China Rich List, is about 6.8 billion yuan, or more than $ 1 billion.
