The US Congress approved the law on Lend-Lease for Ukraine

The bill was introduced by representatives of both parliamentary parties at the end of January. The document provides for an accelerated procedure to supply weapons to Ukraine, Reuters reports.

On the eve of the House of Representatives of the US Congress by 417 votes to ten passed the law "on lend-lease for the defense of Ukraine." The Senate approved it in early April. Now the law must be signed by President Joe Biden. According to the law, the American leader will receive expanded powers to enter into agreements with the Ukrainian authorities "on the provision or lease of defense facilities" to protect the civilian population of Ukraine and other purposes.

It's worth reminding that under such a program during the Second World War, the United States leased or loaned military equipment to the allies.

Earlier it became known that the United States had $ 250 million left for weapons for Ukraine. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, any arms shipments to Ukraine would be a legitimate target for the Russian Armed Forces.
