At least 100 people were killed and another 300 injured when chargers in two cars exploded outside the Somali Ministry of Education building in central Mogadishu.

According to Reuters, referring to a statement by President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, the explosions took place on the evening of October 29. Initially, it became known about 30 victims.

After the explosions, a firefight broke out between security forces and al-Shabaab militants*

The media specify that the head of the district police, Hodan Hussein Adad, as well as correspondent Mohamed Isse Kona, also became victims of the tragedy.

Recall that at the end of August in Mogadishu, in the luxury hotel Hayat, Al-Shabab * staged a series of explosions. Several suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the hotel building, and one of them drove through the door of the building. The militants seized the hotel and held it for more than a day. The security forces staged an assault and tried to knock the attackers out of hiding.

Then about 30 people died.
