This is reported by RBC, referring to its source in the Main Military-Political Directorate of the department.
“Due to the large number of servicemen in the Russian army and navy who have Ukrainian roots, parents or relatives in Ukraine, the president’s article has caused a great positive response and discussion in the military", - the source said.
He added that "all Russian servicemen" share "the key thesis of the unity of the Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian people". In connection with such increased attention to the article, it was decided to include it in the military training program.
As a reminder, the article was published on July 12. In it, Putin wrote that the super task of the world's opponents is "to divide and then play off parts of a single people among themselves." He also added that Moscow remains open for dialogue with Kiev, and Ukraine's true sovereignty is possible only in partnership with Russia.
For his part, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said he was ready to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin his article on the historical unity of the Ukrainian and Russian peoples.
