As you know, on April 29, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko presented a new national project "Tourism and the hospitality industry" at the Government Coordination Center. Among other things, this document says that by 2030, thanks to the instruments of the national project, it is planned to increase the tourist flow from 65 million to 140 million trips around the country per year, to double the number of jobs in the industry and the export of tourism services - to 4.7 million jobs and $ 22.5 billion, respectively.
According to Sergey Sukhanov, General Director of Tourism.RF, 529 billion rubles are planned to be allocated from the federal budget for the implementation of the national project, 72 billion from the regional budget, and more than 2 trillion of private investments from non-budgetary funds for the construction of infrastructure, including 298 hotels and sanatoriums, and 284 complex tourism projects.
Economist Alexey Mineyev writes in this regard:
“According to the published pre-final version of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, it is planned to build and reconstruct 21.7 thousand rooms in 10 years, with the current room stock of ~ 1 million rooms. That is, nothing at all. Sorry.
But the development of the tourism industry could be an important topic for socio-economic growth. You can debate the goals and cost of achievement, but there is something completely cosmetic".
However, the main thesis at this meeting was voiced by the Governor of the Primorsky Territory, Oleg Kozhemyako, who urged to take from the Russians who leave for rest abroad, the "exit fee"!
“This is all you need to know about those who develop domestic tourism, and how they plan”, - Mineyev responded to this wild proposal.
