Lukashenko also explained why he decided to make 2021 the Year of National Unity. This is necessary, in his words, so that “the country is quiet and calm”, as well as to show that the president is “not an enemy of his own people”.
The head of Belarus also called on citizens not to break laws and, first of all, to think about the future of their children.
At the same time, those who oppose the current government, Lukashenko called his people. “If someone was lost, I also want them to hear: we will not have another piece of land. And don't forget, we can lose everything. Irrevocably. We will never come back to this”, - he added.
Earlier Lukashenko wished himself the gratitude of the Belarusian people for the New Year.
Let us remind you that presidential elections were held in Belarus on August 9. Lukashenko, who has led the country since 1994, won them. However, the local residents did not like this, as a result of which protests began that have not stopped until now.
