The calculation of the change in the size of the mother's capital is based on the forecasts of the Ministry of Economy. The agency expects that by the end of 2022, inflation will be up to 17.5%, and in the next two years - up to 6.1% and up to 4%, Kommersant writes.
Now, under the maternity capital program, at the birth of the first child, families are paid 524.5 thousand rubles, an additional payment for the second is 168.6 thousand or 693.1 thousand rubles if the family receives a payment for the first time for two children at once.
Before the introduction of payments for the first child in 2019, 623.5 thousand families received maternity capital. In 2020, when the capital for the first child was introduced, the number of recipients increased to 1.2 million people, but already in 2021 their number decreased to 1.1 million people.
The government decided to keep the mother capital program as a measure of support for state demographic programs. Given the coronavirus pandemic, increased mortality, declining birth rates and a declining influx of migrants, the country's demographic indicators are alarming experts.
The size of the mother's capital is indexed every year to the size of real inflation. The update is due February 1st.
