LUKOIL has announced the acquisition of a 100% stake in the Moscow football club Spartak and the Otkritie Bank Arena stadium.

The company has been the club's general sponsor for the past 20 years.

Following the purchase of the club's shares, the company plans to implement several strategic management-related initiatives, the report said. After the changes, management will become more transparent, and the decision-making mechanism will become collegial.

The company also reported that Leonid Fedun withdrew from the club's shareholders. He is no longer the president, member and chairman of the board of directors of the team. Leonid Fedun has been the president of the Moscow team since 2004.

In addition, it is planned to move the Moscow youth football school "Academy named after Fyodor Cherenkov" to Tushino. A sports hall with a hotel for athletes will also be built here.
