The Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatiana Moskalkova, appealed to the UN and the IOC after the recommendation to restrict the access of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international tournaments.

The President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach supported the proposal to return Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in international competitions, provided that they will perform in a neutral status.

Athletes from Russia and Belarus should not be subject to political sanctions in the form of suspension from participation in competitions. This was stated by the coach of the Polish national rowing team Tomasz Kryk.
