- Since July 22, Timofeyev Nikolay Anatolyevich, the deputy head of the city of Norilsk on general issues, has been appointed acting head of the city of Norilsk, - the press service of the mayor's office said.

The election was carried out by the city council from among the candidates presented by the competition commission based on the results of the competition, no later than six months after the termination of the powers of the previous head of the city.

Let us recall that Akhmetchin resigned after the criticism from the authorities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Governor Alexander Uss. Prior to this, Akhmetchik accused the regional government of underreporting statistics on coronavirus. He also stated that the regional authorities not only significantly underestimate the number of cases of COVID-19, but also do not take adequate actions to combat the spread of the infection.
