In the US state of California, wildfires provoked a rare natural phenomenon - "fire tornado". Due to the risk of a "fire tornado" spread, the authorities were forced to announce the evacuation of the population.

Hot weather in California has caused wildfires. They heated the air so much that there was a danger of the spread of "fiery whirlwinds" - fires moving with great speed, which burn everything in their path.

According to The Guardian, in northern California on August 16, forest fires provoked at least one "firestorm".

The appearance of the first "fire tornado" prompted the US National Weather Service (NWS) to warn local residents about an "extremely dangerous natural phenomenon".

According to NWS meteorologists, residents should stay away from dangerous areas where fire tornadoes and strong gusts of wind are possible.

In 2018, the spread of fire tornadoes resulted in human casualties.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the danger of fire tornadoes may persist until Monday morning, and intense heat - until Wednesday night.

Wildfires that have erupted are raging in California, Oregon and Colorado. It has not yet been possible to extinguish them. The total area of fire reached 100 thousand acres.

In the Tahoe National Reserve, fire destroyed more than 8,000 hectares of forest. Eyewitnesses posted photo and video reports about the disaster that befell the reserve in social networks.
