The State Duma offered to pay monetary compensation to parents whose children did not have enough places in municipal preschool institutions, and who are forced to use the services of the private kindergartens.

State Duma Deputy Yevgeny Fedorov addressed a letter to the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov. He said that the Constitution guarantees Russian citizens the right to free pre-school education.

However, due to the lack of places in budget kindergartens, not all children can get into them. To go to work, many parents are forced to use the services of paid private kindergartens. In them, the fee is often significantly higher than in budgetary institutions.

“Fedorov suggested considering the possibility of creating a mechanism for compensation payments in such cases. As conceived by the deputy, they should not exceed two regional minimum wages per month”, - RBC reports.

Earlier, State Duma deputy Vasily Vlasov made a proposal to introduce additional social guarantees for the parents of preschool children.

He asked the head of the Ministry of Education to establish a monthly payment in the amount of the regional minimum wage for those parents who refused a place in kindergarten. According to the deputy, such a measure will reduce queues at budgetary preschool institutions. Receiving compensation from the budget, young mothers will be able to "stay" on maternity leave or will be able to hire a nanny and go to work.
