Russian Ambassador to The Hague Alexander Shulgin was summoned to the Dutch Foreign Ministry after Moscow refused to participate in trilateral consultations on the plane crash with Malaysian Boeing in Ukraine in 2014.

This is reported in the message of the head of the Dutch Foreign Ministry Stef Blok to parliament, TASS reports.

Shulgin was told that the cabinet of ministers "extremely regrets the unilateral decision of the Russian Federation and stresses its commitment to continue negotiations".

Blok pointed out that the kingdom's government has repeatedly emphasized - both in diplomatic contacts and in meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov - that it attaches great importance to these trilateral negotiations to find a solution.

On the eve of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow considers it impossible to further participate in trilateral consultations with the Netherlands and Australia on the fallen MH17, but is ready to cooperate with the Dutch competent authorities.

Earlier, the deputy head of the ministry, Alexander Glushko, reported that the trilateral channel of Russia, the Netherlands and Australia for the MH17 plane crash operated behind closed doors.

Let us recall that Ukraine and Western countries insist that the liner was shot down from the Russian Buk complex belonging to the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade stationed in Kursk. In Russia, these accusations are denied.
