The Belarusian Autocephalous Orthodox Church has anathematized the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. Church representatives believe that the “lawlessness” committed by Lukashenko in the republic is supported by Russia.

This was announced by Archbishop Svyatoslav Login (pictured).

The text of the anathema says that Alyaksandr Lukashenko commits lawlessness, persecutes and kills Orthodox Christians and other residents, he and his allies commit “bloody massacres” against civilians in “long-suffering Belarus”.

Russia is also mentioned in the text of the anathema.

“This violence and humiliation of law and order is taking place with the support of Belarus’s eastern neighbor, who calls himself “Orthodox” and “elder brother”, but the entire civilized world supports the struggle of the Belarusian people for their rights”, - the document states.

At the same time, Login calls Lukashenko a “former president”, as well as an “impostor” and “executioner”.

Recall that the Belarusian Autocephalous (independent) Church has been in exile since 1944.

It should be noted that earlier the Belarusian security forces banned Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusevich, head of the Roman Catholic Church in Belarus, from entering the republic, despite his Belarusian citizenship. Lukashenko said that Kondrusiewicz was included in the list of "prohibited entry" because "he received an assignment on the Polish side".
