New measures to support Russian entrepreneurs are being discussed in the Russian government. The measures will be aimed primarily at maintaining employment.

This is reported by Izvestia, referring to the minutes of the meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Belousov.

The new package at this stage includes restarting the business lending program for paying salaries at a zero rate, reducing the cost of preferential loans for SMEs through subsidies to banks subject to hiring additional staff, writing off tax and insurance premiums for SMEs from the least recovered industries, freezing the cadastral the cost of offices (as well as retail outlets, catering and consumer services) at the level of the previous year, a transitional tax regime for enterprises that are not able to work according to the simplified system, but for which the transition to general rules is painful and will affect the conduct of business. Measures can be adjusted.

The Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Tax Service together with the Central Bank and the Emergencies Ministry will work on new measures to support entrepreneurs. The departments have until March 1 for this.

It's worth reminding that earlier the Moscow authorities asked to abolish VAT for catering establishments.

Earlier, business ombudsman Boris Titov asked the authorities to extend measures to support business until the end of this year. He sent a letter to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, indicating that 67% of Russian companies record a drop in demand for goods and services. Titov warned of the risk of a spike in bankruptcies and a further contraction in economic activity.
