The state support program Family Car is suspended

As representatives of the official Hyundai dealerships in the Central Federal District told NI, the abrupt end of the program was an unpleasant surprise for customers who ordered new cars in the showrooms and were expecting orders to arrive within the next few days.

“The day before we were informed that February 14 is the last day of the Family Car program, according to which clients, with state support, had the right to receive a 10% discount when buying a car worth up to one and a half million rubles. Further, the program is suspended due to a lack of funds allocated for its implementation", - told Novye Izvestia a representative of the official dealer center in Yaroslavl.

According to car traders, the incident became a big nuisance for many families who were counting on help from the state when buying a car, but now they have lost it.

Earlier it was reported that on May 21, 2020, the Russian government allocated an additional 7 billion rubles for the implementation of all state programs for subsidizing car purchases made in Russia. In accordance with Government Decree No. 364 of 04.16.2015, which is adjusted annually, benefits for buying a car are provided to certain categories of citizens: for families with minor children, for those who buy a car for the first time in their life, for employees of medical organizations of the state system health care and for those who handed over to trade-in a car over 6 years old.

The essence of state support programs is that part of the interest on a car loan is paid not by a citizen, but by the state. The size of the subsidy under the Family Car program is 10% of the cost of the car. To participate in the program, a car must cost no more than one and a half million rubles, have a mass of no more than 3.5 tons, be new and produced in Russia. These requirements include not only AvtoVAZ products, but also foreign companies whose factories operate in the Russian Federation. If the recipient and the bank meet the conditions of the program, then the state will compensate 10% of the total cost of the car. The suspension of the program, which occurred simultaneously with a significant increase in the recycling fee, seriously hit the pockets of buyers.

“Of course, we have now received quite a lot of negativity in connection with the suspension of the state support program. It was especially unpleasant for customers who were waiting for their cars to arrive from day to day. They are, of course, very offended. Previously, we already had similar situations, but later the money was allocated again, and the state support was resumed. We hope that after some time the program will be restored”, - dealers said.
