OMON (Special Police Force) officers arrived at the Sredneuralsky Convent, the flock of which considers the rebellious ex-schema-hegumen Sergiy to be their spiritual father.

Fifty armed people are currently on the territory of the monastery, informs Kommersant. They did not show documents and do not explain the reasons for their visit.

At about two o'clock in the morning (00:00 Moscow time), they broke into cells, living quarters, beat windows, without explaining the reasons. They especially carefully searched the St. John the Theological Monastery, where some priests and monks live. All this time, the sisters are in a 30-degree frost outside. The priests and nuns were separated by the siloviki (security officials - editor's note) from each other, the source said.

According to Sergiy's lawyer Svetlana Gerasimova, the security forces are looking for the cell attendant of her client, Siluan's father.

Earlier it became known that an investigative group of the second department for the investigation of especially important cases of the TFR is working in Yekaterinburg (the department is investigating the case of the ex-schema-hegumen. 25 nuns were summoned for interrogation. None of them agreed to testify.

"The head of the investigative group said that they have no direct relation to this. They said that the operatives are carrying out operational activities. As far as I understand, the FSB accompanies this event in cooperation with the OMON", - said lawyer Dmitry Savchenko.

It's worth reminding that the day before the court extended the arrest of Sergius until May 28.

The former clergyman is accused of inducement to suicide, violation of the right to freedom of conscience and religion, as well as arbitrariness. However, he denies his involvement in the commission of crimes.

Investigators believe that Sergius called on at least 10 nuns living in the Sredneuralsky nunnery to commit suicide. He also published his speech on the Web, which contained the urges of believers to commit suicide "under the guise of the religious ideology of Christianity".
